BTS debuted with No More Dream in 2013 and June 13, 2021 marks their 8th anniversary. In just 8 years, BTS surpassed many achievements, explored a wide variety of music genres, and built a strong and loving fanbase. To celebrate their 8th year, Miku will be depicted appreciating BTS’ discography and concepts by trying out iconic photoshoots and looks, featuring in music videos, and visiting momental places in BTS’s history.

Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid software voicebank released in 2007 by Crypton Future Media. On August 31, 2021, Miku will have her 14th anniversary! To commemorate her voice featuring in many great songs produced by a passionate and talented community, BTS will be exploring her concepts. The members can wear her iconic outfits or looks inspired by them, feature in her MVs, and visit her epic concerts.

We invite the fans of both Miku and BTS to share their love for them through writing fanfiction or personal wishes.

Wishes: Vocarmys can submit written pieces that capture their love of being part of both fandoms, whether it’s about the music, the community, or anything else you would like! These could come in the forms of letters, poems, notes, and personal essays. These are for passionate fans who don't necessarily want to write fanfiction but express their adoration for both. The tone could be sincere, funny, or anything else as long as the content is appropriate. Any contributor can submit this!

Fanfics: Writers can write a fictional piece revolving around the idols to envision the collab we all want. There are no specific prompts. As long as writers include both Miku and BTS into their piece, we’ll love it. We encourage writers to be creative!

Why a free digital zine?

This project is currently modded by people who don’t possess the qualifying experience or skills to initiate a physical and profitable zine. We hope to successfully convey that this is a casual project that will hopefully unite the vocarmy community! Additionally, we understand that artistic and literary content is valuable (as artists and writers ourselves) so we recognize that some vocarmys may be uninterested. In the end, we are grateful that all contributors are willing to share their talent for free <3

Why aren’t all vocaloids included in the zine? Why only Miku?

We’re well aware that there is much hype for a vocarmy zine. However, due to our lack of professional experiences and skills, we want to save that idea for those more qualified to create a successful zine with that concept! Not only will focusing solely on Miku make the work more manageable, we simply want to celebrate Miku’s and BTS’s anniversary with the vocarmy community.

What is the zine size?

The zine specs will follow the A5 measurements.

Is there an age restriction for contributors?

We only ask that you’re above the age of 13!

How many contributors are you expecting to accept?

We plan to accept everyone who applies! If the number of participants gets too large, we’ll consider taking in other mods.

What do you need to apply as a contributor?

Nothing is required unless you’re interested in becoming the cover artist! Everyone who applies will be automatically accepted to the zine.

What are the portfolio requirements for a cover artist?

We’re looking for 3-4 pieces of recent work that all have backgrounds (don’t have to be complex backgrounds though). 2 pieces must include BTS (can range from 1 member to all of them).

Can you apply as a cover artist and an artist?

Absolutely! Rest assured that even if you’re not chosen to be the cover artist, you’ll be accepted as an artist for the zine.

Can you apply for several roles (ex: writer and artist)?

Yes, you can!

Can you contribute more than 1 piece to the zine?

Yes, feel free to make as many pieces as you want!

Are different interpretations of Miku allowed to be drawn?

Yes! We adore all diverse versions of Miku and would love to see them in the zine! As long as the design isn’t inappropriate, it will be accepted.

Are other vocaloids allowed to be featured in pieces?

We are allowing other vocaloids to be featured in pieces. However, they may only remain as background characters. Please remember that Miku is the main focus!

Are contributors allowed to work with collab Miku songs (songs featuring Miku and other vocaloid(s))?

This is a complex question. We are currently allowing collab Miku songs to be worked with. Although it may be difficult for some of the songs, we recommend that Miku’s presence is more accentuated than the other vocaloids’!
